I finished Howard College (now
Samford University) in 1942.
I'm a has-been newspaper gal,
school teacher, speech writer, farmer's wife, and have worked
in communications, education, church, and government jobs.
Biggest accomplishment was having two wonderful daughters.
With my 83rd birthday coming up, I stay amazed that my teeth
are outlasting my feet. I almost cried when I put on my first
SAS shoes, but they do make my face look better...more
cheerful, that is.
In 1997, my younger daughter, Claire, and I
went to Campofranco, Sicily, Italy, and found my father's
family. (Scannella, that is and not Scannelly) Thrill of a
life time!!!! I have never been so proud of my Italian
heritage. Claire has since died, but she left saying going to
Heaven would be like going back to Campofranco...and the kind
of welcome and loving family, and beauty we found there.
Delighted to find this web site.
Most of my class mates must be gone by now, but I surely would
like to know who is left. I keep wondering about Iris Lykins.
Does anyone know? I also have the class picture if you need
one.
10 July 2003 Is
anyone else left ?? I'm still going strong !!
