NORRIS, ROBERT "BOB" WILLIAM Age 65, departed this life on October 17, 2010 after a courageous battle with cancer. He graduated from Bessemer High School in 1964. A resident of Shannon, AL, Bob worked as a butcher for many years. Bob was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Bob's kind and loving nature meant that he never met a stranger. He will be greatly missed. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Shannon and former Deacon. His joy in life was to help others. Bob was a man with a big heart, who always made you smile, always kept his word, and truly loved his neighbors. He is preceded in death by his father, Robert Lester Norris and stepfather Joe Farmer. Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Patricia L. Norris; daughter, Cheryl Norris Aldridge; mother, Helen B. Farmer; stepmother, Helen S. Norris; brother, Jim Norris; stepbrother, John C. Norris; and stepsisters, Kim George and LeeAnn Bourque; grandchildren, Rusty Norris, Luke and Lexie Aldridge; great grandchildren, Halley and Kandace Norris.
