After having joined this site I have been filled with many memories of my time at BHS. I will share some of my memories, and you share some of yours.
Driving the "Super" Highway between Puro's, Lochamy's BBQ, Slop (Super Sandwich Shop) Shop, and Russells. Just checking out who was out and about.
Sadie Hawkins day! That was a lot of fun.
Student Council and Mr. Turnipseed. Making Pom Poms to sell at the football games, and hearing Mr. Turnipseed murder the kings english.
Biology (cant remember teachers name). I do remember a pop quizz where the question was , "How many eggs can a housefly lay in a season?" and Carolyn Shadrack answered 20 Crillion. He did not give her credit for that answer because he said it was wrong. He could not pronounce any of the TR sounds, and I thought she got a raw deal and really should have been given credit.
Coach Hale. What else can you say?
Sock hops and dancing in the gym during lunch.
Alph tri hi y - Induction night and all the funny things we were made to do. Selling toilet tissue at the drive-in, etc.
Highland Bakery - the best ice cream any where!!
Drive In Theatres - Number 1 and Fair Park
Do-Wop music.
"Love Is a Many Splendored Thing" and "Moments to Remember". I still tear up when I hear those.
Crinolin petticoats. Never Enough, or enough starch.
"Smoke Gets in Your Eyes".
Homecoming parades.
Pat Boone and white buc shoes.
All of this and more!!! Lynda
